Tips & Tidbits

Have you ever caught yourself saying, “now I have seen it all”? Having been in the health care field for all of my career, I have learned that people never cease to amaze and baffle me. Some of the most memorable moments of my career are sharing my experiences, stories, and laughter with my fellow tribal members. So, sit back and join me on a walk though some of our most laughable moments.

Mr. Jones, our newest resident was getting settled into his new room just before supper service. Heaping plates of food were quickly being served and everyone was just starting to quiet down with their food. Suddenly,  from the dining room entryway, we all heard a man yell “Hey, hey all y’all!!” All heads turned, and there hanging onto the handrail with both hands was Mr. Jones. “All y’all, kiss my ass” he stormed. Then lowered himself back down into his wheelchair and rolled over to an empty spot at a table and started to eat. “Well,” came a female voice from across the room, “we all know what he wants.”

Enjoy the crazy moments. Jot them down in a notebook and pull them out when the stress level seems unbearable and let the joy restore your spirit. The Bible tells us that “a cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.”
